Q-SCAN was founded to satisfy the ever growing need for knowledge and experience in the international trade of commodities (fruit, perishables, frozen cargo, containerized cargo, …), assisting its customers to determine the root cause of problems which were encountered after transit overseas, by air or inland.
Our story… so far
Although the company Q-SCAN was founded only in March 2023, we have more than 45 combined years of working experience with many leading companies in the international trade perishables and frozen cargo, such as fruit and vegetable exporters, importers, insurance companies and brokers.
Kristien De Waele heads the company. She has held since 2003 senior and management positions at GRUPO NOBOA (important exporter of bananas, pineapples, mangoes) and DP SURVEY GROUP NV (leading survey company with a specialization on fruit and other perishables on worldwide level).
Elina Yan joined Q-SCAN as a partner in 2024, bringing over a decade of experience in the international claims industry with a specialization in Chinese import and export. As a native Chinese, she possesses deep cultural insight and a strong network of relationships within the Asian trade sector.
In 2025, Q-SCAN welcomed Louise Schwoob as a partner. She started her career at COMPAGNIE FRUITIÈRE, a key player in the exotic fruit industry, before transitioning into claims coordination, where she held senior roles in leading companies (DP SURVEY GROUP NV and BARBUSS).
